About Me

Welcome to my website. My name is Sarah Whateley and I’m currently a water resource scientist at The Nature Conservancy.

I graduated with a BA in Environmental Science from Skidmore College in 2009. I received my MS in Environmental Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2012 and my PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2016.

My research interests include: assessing vulnerabilities and risks to water resource systems, water resources planning and management, climate change impacts, web-based decision support (using R and Shiny), reservoir simulation and optimization, seasonal forecasting, and decision theory.

In my free time, I love playing soccer, being outdoors, and spending time with friends and family.
